Yalumba Gen Organic Shiraz 750mL

$21.99 each

Description

Late winter and early spring rainfall replenished the soil profile accompanied by a later start to the growing season. Cooler summer conditions in January prevailed into February, the milder season enabling even flavour development while maintaining fresh acidity.

The grapes for this wine are sourced from six family owned, certified organic vineyards. The Barich family on the Murray River at Loxton, the Strachan family in McLaren Vale, the Palena family in the Riverland and the Carypidis family in Virginia have been the long term growers and the backbone of this wine. Since 2018, we have also sourced grapes from the Strachan family at Renmark and our own vineyard at Waikerie.

Crimson in colour with violet hues. Spiced plums and peppercorns with fruit cake and forest floor aromas. The palate is a mix of violets and spice with hints of Dutch licorice, lingering plum and cherry flavours. This is a fruit driven, medium-bodied wine with soft, silky tannins and a persistent savoury finish.
